Hello, my name is Philipp Schaz and I am an economist. I am curious to use empirical data in order to draw recommendations for the real economy and policymaking. In particular, my research explores the intersection between the financial sector, firms and workers: Why do people lose their jobs during a financial crisis and how can this be avoided?
I recently received a PhD in Economics from Humboldt University of Berlin, DIW Berlin and the Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics an Management Science (degree: Dr. rer. pol.). You can find my CV and research papers on this website.
The paper "Geographic diversification and bank lending during crises" has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Financial Economics.
